Job description
Team Mission
The Product Integration Engineering team is dedicated to maturing our core technology platforms and refining our Process Design Kit (PDK). We are committed to refining our technology and enhancing our methodologies to enable rapid, efficient adaptations in our manufacturing landscape. This approach ensures we can swiftly turn customer designs into manufactured realities without sacrificing quality.
Role Summary
As a Device Integration Engineer (Product Integration focus), you'll ensure customers can effectively build products using the platform and Process Design Kit (PDK). You'll lead cross-functional projects to improve platform capabilities, focusing on the performance of building blocks and reference circuits. Key responsibilities include linking test data to industrialization efforts and ensuring customer designs are manufacturable and deliver predictable performance. Your expertise in photonic device/circuit design, simulation, measurement, and data analysis will be essential.
Key Responsibilities
Develop in-depth expertise in our technology platform and PDK capabilities.
Analyse device and circuit data, correlate device characterization, inline metrology, PCM, and end test results - based on all this drive improvements in platform performance.
Integrate simulation results with measured performance to refine PDK models.
Lead cross-functional projects that raise platform performance and manufacturability;
Together with yield engineers and process engineers work on yield ramp up.
Guide test engineers on setting up the correct measurements,
Interface with Mask Design and PDK teams to ensure high-quality tape-outs and efficient design cycles. Ensure customer designs are manufacturable and scalable.
Act as a key contact for technical discussions with customers regarding device capabilities and performance.
Support failure analysis and structured problem solving (8D) for excursions and customer issues.
Job requirements
PhD in Photonics or a related field preferred.
Candidates with a Master's degree and 3–4 years of hands-on experience in integrated photonics or Si/SiN/LiNbO₃/hybrid photonics are also encouraged to apply."
Experience with photonic devices on the following:
device design,
device measurements/characterization,
data analysis with scripting (for example Python or MATLAB).
Understanding of PDK development, compact modelling, design rules, and DRC fundamentals.
Preferably experience in a semiconductor foundry, well-known photonics research facility or similar high tech photonics-oriented environment.
Experience with building block or circuit simulations is a big plus.
Experience with statistical analysis, SPC, DOE, and data visualization tools (for example Minitab, JMP, Spotfire) is a strong plus.
Strong communication skills, stakeholder management, and a pragmatic, results oriented approach
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate complex findings clearly
