Job description

The Equipment and R&D teams are looking for a CAD Design Technician to support them on a 0-hour contract basis.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on CAD Design, 3d Printing, and technical support to help improve operational efficiency at SMART Photonics.

You will be reporting to the Equipment Engineering Cluster Lead, and work alongside various teams.

Tasks: and Responsibilities:

  • Independently design small machine components with specific requirements using CAD software (Autodesk Fusion 360 and PrusaSlicer). This accounts for approximately 50% of the total working time.

  • Install newly designed machine components, mainly metrology tools, and ensure they are ready for use.

  • Train Equipment Technicians on new machine components, tools and/or software within the scope.

  • Consult with manufacturers and maintain good relationships regarding the required tools and components, including identifying solutions.

  • Operate the 3D and AO printers and train colleagues to use these printers.

  • Write and maintain work instructions for components and machines created by the Equipment Support Engineer.

  • Collaborate on the design and layout of the cleanroom. Gather requests and discuss with the Cluster Lead whether these can be incorporated into the cleanroom design, while also providing suggestions.

  • In consultation with Equipment Engineers, order cleanroom components and new equipment, such as tables, racks and vacuum tweezers. Make the required modifications in the cleanroom by installing these components and drawing them

Job requirements

  • MBO in a technical field, such as mechatronics or mechanics;

  • Relevant hands-on experience in mechanical design, and equipment support;

  • Strong experience with CAD software, preferably Autodesk Fusion 360.

  • Experience with 3D printing technologies is highly desirable.

  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks proactively.

Additional Requirements

  • Must already be legally authorized to work in the Netherlands.

  • No visa sponsorship is available for this position.

  • Flexible availability to work on an on-call basis under a 0-hour contract.
